Why Public Speaking Is Essential For Non-Native English Speakers

I’m sure the last thing you’re thinking about is public speaking.

Why would you bother to speak in public, when in everyday conversations people ask you to repeat things over and over, tell you they can’t understand your accent, or avoid making conversation with you?

Well these are the very reasons why you should consider speaking more, and even speaking in public!

OK, I know what you’re thinking, “Shut up, Poornima! You’re a native English speaker. You wouldn’t get it.”

Maybe you’re right that I don’t get it, but I know someone who does: Yin L. Yin, whose third language is English.

Yin runs a nonprofit called Qian Zheng Memorial Scholarship.
