Some people might say your innovative startup doesn’t make sense… How do you distinguish between useful and negative feedback?

Part of the problem is that you’re communicating your idea in a way that only makes sense to you, but it doesn’t make sense to whomever is listening.

If you’re struggling to convince people to buy your product, join your team, or give you money, then it’s highly likely that you aren’t being clear. If you’ve heard the following words, “Um, that’s a cool idea…” Followed by silence. Or, “Who is it for?” Or, “What exactly do you do?” Then it’s highly likely that you weren’t being clear.

There is a simple and effective technique, that I came up with called the Pitch Formula. The Pitch Formula will help you communicate your ideas clearly to customers, investors, and employees.

In the following video segment, I talk about the Pitch Formula, and give some examples of effective pitches.

After you’ve watched the video, plug your idea into the Pitch Formula, and share it with me in the comments below! I’ll be happy to provide some additional feedback.
